Marie Melanson has accumulated several decades of professional experience, having started in the beauty industry in 1992 as a makeup artist. She is a graduate of both Algonquin College as well as Ottawa Academy, the latter of which she attended in 1999 for Professional Hairstyling. Marie has continued to pursue her passion with an apprenticeship at The Spa in Bells Corners, followed by a position at Limelight Spa where she received her license. With professional experience and finely-attuned skills under her belt, she moved to Scissors Kanata, where she worked as a full-time stylist. After the birth of her daughter, Marie made a commitment to begin her own business from home in 2005, the result of which is Hair Renos. This decision stems from a passion to operate a salon that is efficient, professional, and capable of delivering a deeply personalized level of service. Marie’s studio is built from the ground up for one-on-one experiences – she is proud to provide exceptional, immaculate service to each guest herself. She has completed a comprehensive array of courses and classes over the years to hone her skills and she continues to do so to this day, with Marie having most recently completed a 5-day Creative Colour & Cut course at the prestigious and world-renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy Toronto in May of 2017.
